Toastmasters weekly meetings
Toastmasters, a public-speaking organization, has a number of chapters in Snohomish County that meet weekly throughout the year to help its members gain speaking, listening and presentation skills, including:

Career fair — April 10
Cascadia Community College and the University of Washington, Bothell, will co-host a career fair from 2 to 5:30 p.m. April 10 on their shared campus, 18225 Campus Way NE, in Bothell.

More than 50 representatives of Puget Sound area employers will be available to discuss career and internship opportunities. Also, job-search workshops, resume critiques and mock interviews will be offered during the event.

KidsDream benefit — April 13
A fund-raising dinner is set for 5 p.m. April 13 to support KidsDream, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help fulfill the dreams of abused and neglected children in Snohomish County by providing them with opportunities to develop their skills, talents and self-esteem.

Club Broadway, located at 1611 Everett Ave, in Everett, will host the event, which will include entertainment. Cost for admission is $20.

Sustainable-design forum — April 24, 25
The International Interior Design Association Washington State Chapter and the American Institute of Architects Seattle Committee on the Environment have joined forces to present a sustainable-design forum April 24 and 25.

This year’s fusion event, “GreenWorld — What Makes it GREEN? A Collaborative Forum on Sustainable Design” will be held at the Fisher Pavilion at the Seattle Center on April 24, beginning with breakfast and registration at 7:30 a.m. and concluding with cocktails and hors d’oeuvers at 8 p.m., with classes and discussions on sustainable building running throughout the day.

Local project tours will be scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25 and will include sustainable projects such as Fisher Pavilion, Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, Seattle Justice Center and Seattle City Hall.
