North-county senior community plans expansion

Warm Beach Senior Community is planning a $26 million expansion that would include new townhouses, apartments and a community center.

The SoundView project will be located on 20 acres at the corner of 201st Street NW and Marine Drive south of Stanwood, Warm Beach officials said.

Architects are still in the design phase with the project, with construction set to begin in spring 2004 and be done by 2005.

But Warm Beach already is taking reservations for SoundView’s 100 townhouses and apartments.

Plans call for a three-story apartment building and single-level townhouses overlooking Warm Beach. Entrance fees for the one-, two- and three-bedroom units will range from about $163,000 to about $280,000. That cost is up to 75 percent refundable when a resident leaves.
