AEROSPACE
The Boeing Co.’s chief financial officer, James Bell, has been named interim chief executive of the company following the forced resignation of Harry Stonecipher in March after an investigation found he violated the company’s code of conduct by having a consensual relationship with a woman who is a company executive. Bell has an accounting background and comes out of Boeing’s space and satellite business.

BIOTECH
Anne Bugge has joined SonoSite Inc. as vice president of corporate affairs, and John Lowell has joined the company as vice president of operations.

Eric Dobmeier has been promoted to senior vice president of corporate development at Seattle Genetics Inc.

COFFEE
Michael Garber has joined Whidbey Coffee as director of sales. Prior to joining Whidbey Coffee, Garber, a Lake Stevens resident, spent nearly 20 years with Millstone Coffee, where he held positions in sales and merchandising.

Kirk Elsner, controller for Cascade Coffee Inc., has been named to the President’s Circle.

ENGINEERING & ENVIRONMENTAL
Dawne Herrick, a mechanical engineer registered in both Washington and California, has joined CDi Engineers of Lynnwood. In addition, CDi has added three new CAD technicians: Jaemin Yoo, Bret Von Poppenberg and Andrea Osterday. Also, CDi has promoted Rachelle Lynch to the position of mechanical designer, and Greg Enlow has been promoted to fill the position of information support specialist.

FINANCIAL
Richard Pahre, a certified public accountant, has been elected to CityBank’s board of directors.

Molly Brodie has been hired as First Heritage Bank’s new controller working out of the bank’s Snohomish headquarters, and Shelley Brunelle has been hired as a new commercial loan officer working out of the bank’s Marysville branch. Both Brodie and Brunelle are vice presidents.

Toraya Miller has been promoted to assistant auditor at Frontier Bank.

Brett Studholme has been named a business banking relationship manager for Wells Fargo’s Northern Washington area and will be based in Everett, serving customers in Snohomish and north King counties. He most recently worked as a Wells Fargo business banking specialist in Lynnwood.

Sue Gammell has joined Banner Bank as assistant vice president and branch manager on Evergreen Way. Other Banner Bank additions include Keri Jensen, assistant vice president and retail branch manager and Steven Heigert, vice president and commercial real estate loan officer, South Everett; and Allison Gilham, Edmonds vice president and division operations manager. Gilham also will be the Alderwood branch manager.

GOVERNMENT
Dave Waggoner, director of Snohomish County Airport/Paine Field recently was presented the 2004 Aviation Director of the Year award by the Washington State Department of Transportation-Aviation Division at the Northwest Aviation Trade Show in Puyallup.

HEALTH CARE
Stephanie Kiel of Cascade Rehabilitation recently achieved the specialty designation of certified hand therapist. Kiel, who holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy, has specialized in hand and upper extremity injuries since 2000 and has completed 4,000 hours of specialty experience in hand therapy.

Dr. Paige McClincy has joined The Everett Clinic’s family practice department in Snohomish, and Dr. Donald Lofland has joined the walk-in clinic in Marysville.

Dr. Robert Michaelson, a surgeon with Western Washington Medical Group in Everett, has been invited to train surgeons in Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing, China, in laparoscopic surgical procedures for colon cancer and hernia repair.

HOSPITALITY
Michael Felsenstein has been hired as executive chef of the Lynnwood Convention Center. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York and previously worked at The Park Avenue Cafe in New York, The Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans and The Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago.

INSURANCE
John Reynolds has joined Whitfield’s United Insurance Agencies Inc. as a principal. Prior to joining Whitfield’s, Reynolds was an executive for the SAFECO Insurance Cos.

LAW
G. Geoffrey Gibbs has joined Anderson Hunter Law Firm PS in Everett as a principal, and Laurie Ummel has joined the firm as an associate.

NONPROFITS
Several new people have joined the staff at United Way of Snohomish County: Kelli Armstrong of Marysville is the general ledger accountant; Jennifer Chafin of Seattle is the communications and events manager; and Penny Coyne of Silver Lake is a donor relations manager.

Phil Sullivan has joined Senior Services of Snohomish County as the new executive director.

Leslie Somes, vice president and client manager at Bank of America, Everett Business Banking, has been named secretary treasurer of the Snohomish County Workforce Development board of directors.

REAL ESTATE
Charles Calhoun and Lynn Taylor recently joined John L. Scott’s Lynnwood office. Also, Barbara McMahon has joined John L. Scott’s Edmonds office. She has 25 years of experience in marketing, sales and real estate.

Sandy Morton has joined Windermere Real Estate’s Everett-South office as a sales associate. Morton previously worked as an advertising coordinator/inside sales with Beacon Publishing in Mukilteo. Also, Cathy Zybala has joined Windermere’s Mukilteo office as a sales associate.

Kevin Northrup has been named regional director of the RE/MAX Pacific Northwest region, which includes real estate franchise offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Northrup joined RE/MAX International in 2002 as a franchise development consultant, moving up to senior franchise development consultant and assistant regional director before his recent promotion.

Debi Mercer, founder and co-owner of Mercer Properties LLC, has joined the sales staff of ALL Real Estate Inc. of Sultan. Mercer’s experience includes real estate investing in the Pacific Northwest.
