Health Savings Accounts seminar — April 4
EvergreenBank is holding a free seminar on Health Savings Accounts from 9 to 10:30 a.m. April 4 at the bank’s Eastlake office, 301 Eastlake Ave. E., in Seattle. David Preston, owner of Lynnwood-based Insurance Resource Group, will explain the benefits of HSAs for businesses that offer, or may offer, high-deductible health plans to employees. Naval Station Everett Luncheon — April 5
The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its State of the Base: Naval Station Everett Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 5 at The Commons at Naval Station Everett, 2000 W. Marine View Drive. During the luncheon, Capt. Eddie Gardiner will present the 2006 State of the Base address, and the chamber will help celebrate A Dozen Years of Dedication, marking the 12th anniversary of the opening of Naval Station Everett. The chamber will present Profiles of Service Awards to 12 military and civilian representatives from the base. Following the celebration, there will be an optional one-hour Captain’s Tour of the base. Cost to attend is $35 for chamber members and $50 for nonmembers. Zonta Club breakfast meeting — April 6
The Zonta Club of Everett will hold a breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. April 6 at the Everett Golf & Country Club, 1500 52nd St. SE, in Everett. The club, affiliated with Zonta International, is dedicated to improving the status of women in Snohomish County and worldwide. Cost to attend the event is $12, and the public is welcome. Media relations workshop — April 7
A media relations workshop, “How to Optimize Your Media Relations Efforts and Achieve Maximum Results with Little Money,” will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. April 7 in the North Star Dining Room at North Seattle Community College. Nancy S. Juetten, owner of Nancy S. Juetten Marketing Inc. will share a practical toolbox of PR strategies that business owners can use to capture the “ink and air” to build visibility, enhance reputation and credibility, influence potential clients and increase sales. Business women group meeting — April 11
The Ke-Harbor Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will hold a networking and dinner program beginning at 6:30 p.m. April 11 at Country Inn & Suites, 19333 North Creek Parkway, in Bothell. Earl C. Johnson, a survivor of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, will be the featured speaker. Executive breakfast forum — April 13
“Breakthrough Performance through Leadership & Workforce Alignment” will be the focus of a free executive breakfast forum to be held from 8 a.m. to noon April 13 at the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle. “Good Morning, Lake Stevens” — April 25
The Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce has added another networking opportunity to its monthly calendar, with “Good Morning, Lake Stevens” set for the last Tuesday of each month at 7 a.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Administration Building. This will be a roundtable networking breakfast designed exclusively for networking and promoting attendees’ business. Participants should be prepared with 40 to 50 business cards or other brochures to pass around the table. Cost to attend is $15 for chamber members, $18 at the door and $20 for nonmembers. State Technology Summit — April 28
The 2006 Washington State Technology Summit will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 28 at the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond. Presented by the Washington Technology Center, the summit is a conference for innovators, bringing together technology leaders from across the state to discuss trends, challenges and opportunities across multiple industries central to Washington’s economic growth. The one-day conference features 38 presenters from leading industries, universities and government agencies across the region. General sessions are complemented by targeted industry tracks for four of Washington’s dominant technology sectors: aerospace, software, agriculture and renewable energy. March of Dimes WalkAmerica — May 6
The March of Dimes WalkAmerica fund-raiser will be held May 6 in Everett to help the March of Dimes fight prematurity, a growing crisis that now affects half a million babies born in the United States every year and more than 8,200 babies in Washington state. The Snohomish County WalkAmerica, being held at American Legion Memorial Park, will include after-Walk fun, with food, a reptile petting zoo, face painting, pink and blue hair dying, massages and a special appearance by Webby, the AquaSox mascot Event registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with an official start time of 8:30 a.m. Providence Everett Medical Center is a major sponsor. Estate-planning seminar — May 9
Everett—You work hard for your money. Learn how it can keep working for you and those you love, even if you’re not there.
