AT&T
Broadband opens cable network to EarthLink
SCBJ

AT&T Broadband customers
in parts of Snohomish County now have a choice of high-speed Internet
providers.
EarthLink Inc. is
offering cable Internet service anywhere that AT&T Broadband’s own high-speed
Internet service is available around Puget Sound, including Edmonds, Lynnwood,
Mountlake Terrace and Bothell.
Parts of Everett’s
cable system recently were upgraded to offer high-speed Internet access,
while other areas are still in the process of being improved.
The introduction
of EarthLink’s high-speed service in the region marks the first time AT&T
Broadband has opened its cable network to another Internet service provider.
While EarthLink’s
cable access service is new to the area, its dial-up and DSL services
have been available for years. Founded in 1994, EarthLink has 4.9 million
customers nationwide.
