Business resource seminar series
Everett Community College and the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce are partnering to bring more business-oriented workshops to the area. The following workshops will be held at EvCC’s Applied Technology Training Center on Seaway Boulevard in Everett:

  • “The 10 People Principles of Empowerment” — July 31.
  • “Proactive Customer Service” — Aug. 14.
  • “Overcoming Negativity in the Workplace” — Sept. 11.
  • “Effective Business and Personal Communication” — Oct. 16

Business fair — Sept. 6
The 2003 Washington Small Business Fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at Renton Technical College, 3000 NE Fourth St., in Renton.

The free event will include representatives of more than 50 business and trade associations, local chambers of commerce and government agencies; seminars taught by business experts on a wide variety of topics, including financing, marketing and business planning; and firsthand accounts from successful small-business owners.

Estate-planning seminar — Sept. 17
A free seminar on will writing and the basics of estate planning will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 17 at United Way of Snohomish County, 917 134th St. SW, Suite B-1, in Everett.

Professional advisers will cover such subjects as how to prepare for writing a will, the advantages of living trusts and how to minimize estate taxes.
