7E7’s impact — Aug. 4
The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce will hold a presentation
on “The 7E7 and its Impact on Competitiveness in Washington State” from
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at Embassy Suites-Lynnwood, 20610 44th Ave.
W. The event will include lunch along with speaker Bob Watt, vice president
of government and community relations for the Boeing Co., who will discuss
how the 7E7 competition is a catalyst for improving the economic climate
in the state. Cost for the event is $30 for chamber members paying after

Night-time golfing
to benefit
leukemia group — Aug. 6
Glow Golf will be held Aug. 6 at Blue Boy West Golf Course, 27927 Florence
Acres Road, in Monroe, to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team
in Training Washington/Alaska Chapter. The event begins at 9 p.m. with
registration and burgers. A shotgun start will follow at 10 p.m., with
the course illuminated in bright glow-in-the-dark markers on trees, flagpoles,
holes and the fairway. Cost is $40 per player (cash/check) and includes
nine holes of golf, a glow-in-the-dark golf ball and a barbecued burger.

seminar — Aug. 12
The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Resource Seminar Series
will hold its next seminar, “Communicate with Confidence,” from 8 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Everett Community College’s Applied Technology
Training Center. Cost for the workshop is $45 for chamber members and

Tax workshop
for businesses — Aug. 18
The Everett office of the Department of Revenue is holding a free “New
Business Outreach” workshop to help new and small businesses understand
how to report their state taxes. The workshop, in which DOR staff members
will explain the state’s excise taxes, will be held from 1:30 to 4:30
p.m. Aug. 18 at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Participants
will receive a workbook that answers the most common questions asked by
businesses as well as copies of DOR rules and regulations. For more information

presentation — Aug. 26
The Greater Edmonds Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly membership
luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Edmonds Yacht Club,
behind Anthony’s at 456 Admiral Way. Guest speaker Robin Heslop, a crime
prevention specialist with the Edmonds Police Department, will present
“Security at Your Business Place.” Cost is $20 per person, and $15 for
