Edmonds CC offering more
IT and networking programs

Edmonds Community College’s Computer Information Systems department offers two new technology programs for student working in IT and networking areas, particularly for cybersecurity professionals.

The college is expanding its Network Security Certificate program, added last fall, to a two-year Information Security degree, including a Linux Security Specialist certificate.

Studies for the degree include computer forensics, firewalls, risk analysis and layered security design training to prepare students for work as security or computer forensics analysts or information security managers, engineers or administrators. Part of the class will include working for CyberSecurity Institute, owned by instructor Steve Hailey, and performing vulnerability assessments for local businesses and organizations as well as working on computer forensic cases.
