American Society of Women Accountants — Seattle Chapter
The Seattle Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, except November and December of each year and this August, at the College Club, 505 Madison St., in Seattle. Members have the opportunity to network during meetings, with a social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a scheduled program at 7:30 p.m. The cost of dinner meetings is $27.

The annual membership fee is $137 and includes national contacts for networking and professional information, opportunities for continuing professional education, regular newsletters, community service opportunities and access to a job bank.

Association for Women in Computing — Puget Sound Chapter
The Puget Sound Chapter of the Association for Women in Computing is dedicated to promoting awareness of issues women face in the computing industry, advancing the professional development of women in computing and encouraging women to enter the computing field.

The group is open to both men and women, with members meeting at 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of every month except July, August and December for networking, dinner and a presentation.

The AWC has been meeting at the Best Western Executive Inn in Seattle but is considering a new location, according to the group.

Membership dues run from June to June and are $65, with a special student rate of $30.

Greater Port Gardner Bay Business and Professional Women
The Greater Port Gardner Bay Business and Professional Women is part of a national organization that works to address women’s issues in the workplace as well as offering opportunities for networking.

Meetings are held from September through May on the fourth Friday of each month downstairs at the Flying Pig restaurant, 2929 Colby Ave., in Everett.

Members and guests arrive at about 5:45 p.m. to order their dinner. Meetings consist of networking, dinner, a business meeting and a speaker. Annual dues are $96 per year.

National Association of Professional Mortgage Women — Everett Association
The National Association of Professional Mortgage Women is a network of individuals within the mortgage community that promotes professional and personal development for women through educational and leadership opportunities.

The Everett Association of the NAPMW holds general meetings on the second Thursday of every month at the Mill Creek Country Club in Mill Creek. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a presentation at 7 p.m.

Cost for membership is $90, which includes national, regional and local dues. Also, the general meeting is $22, which includes the cost of dinner and the presentation.

The group’s membership eligibility expanded in May to include anyone interested in mortgage banking or a related field. Previously, only those employed in the mortgage-banking field were eligible.

National Association of Women in Construction — Everett Chapter
This is a networking group for women employed in some form of the construction industry, working at least 20 hours a week.

Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel in Everett, with social time starting at 5:30 p.m. and dinner starting at 6 p.m. Dinner is $20, but attendees are come only for the meeting, without having dinner, said Virginia Carey, chapter president.

Dues are $155 per year, including local and national.

Olympic View Business and Professional Women
The Olympic View Business and Professional Women is part of a national organization that works to address women’s issues in the workplace as well as offering opportunities for networking.

Meetings, which include dinner and a presentation, are held on the second Thursday of the month starting at 5:30 p.m. at Elmer’s Restaurant, 3411 184th SW, in Lynnwood. Cost for the dinner is $17.

Snohomish Women Networking
More than a decade ago, Snohomish Women Networking was started to provide moral support, kindness and caring for business women of the city of Snohomish. The organization has grown from eight members to 67, with members meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month at a hosting business.

Members must be business owners or representatives of Snohomish-based businesses. Membership dues are $33, which includes the cost of a directory.

Soroptimist International of Sno-King
Since 1964, the nonprofit Soroptimist International of Sno-King has been serving south Snohomish and north King counties with its goal of “making a difference for women.”

The local group is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, joining with nearly 100,000 members from around the globe to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women.

Locally, the organization provides specific assistance funds for Edmonds Community College students, infant layettes for families in need and cancer awareness outreach materials for Stevens Healthcare as well as providing financial support for other community agencies. The group also sponsors the Women’s Opportunity Award, Violet Richardson Awards, Making a Difference for Women and Women Helping Women awards.

Members meet the first and third Thursday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. at the Red Lobster restaurant, 4231 196th St. SW, in Lynnwood.

Women Business Owners
Women Business Owners’ mission is to help women-owned businesses succeed by educating members in business development, building a supportive membership community and providing information, resources and referrals through a network of members, guests and speakers.

WBO meets the fourth Thursday of each month, January through October, and the third Thursday of November. There is no meeting in December.

Beginning July 24, WBO meetings will be held at the Washington Athletic Club in downtown Seattle from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Formerly, meetings had been held at the Lake Union Cafe.

Annual dues are $155 for regular members (women who have at least 50 percent ownership in a business, either as a sole proprietor, partner or corporate shareholder) and $195 for associate members (men and women who support the growth and development of a strong women-owned business community).

Zonta Club of Everett
The Zonta Club of Everett is part of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women.
The local club was established in Everett in 1929 and has raised over $670,000 for the community through its annual auction and fund-raising activities. There are 1,254 Zonta clubs in 69 countries around the world.

The local chapter meets at 7:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month and at noon on the third Thursday of the month at the Everett Golf and Country Club, 1500 52nd SE, in Everett.

Membership is by invitation only, and new members must be actively engaged in a decision-making capacity in business or their professions. Annual membership cost is $143.
