The all-day conference, now in its ninth year, is scheduled for May 19 in the new Everett Events Center Ballroom. The event, as in years past, is designed to address the ongoing needs of women in the workplace, whether they are entry-level employees or top management, said Stephanie Broome, planning committee chair. Between 250 and 300 people are expected to attend.

“The conference is targeted to a broad spectrum of women. ... There’s something for everyone,” she said, starting with keynote speaker Cindi Rinehart, who will kick off the day with “My Initials are C.R. and the ‘R’ is for Resilience!”

Rinehart, an Emmy-winning host of KOMO-TV’s “Northwest Afternoon,” said her talk will include her own life experiences as she motivates attendees to “follow their dreams.”

“Mostly it’s all fun and life stories, and challenging them to find something in their own life like that. Everybody’s got an interesting story,” she said.

The keynote address, accompanied by a continental breakfast, will be followed by a series of breakout sessions, with each attendee selecting four sessions to participate in throughout the day — one more than in previous years, said Tracy Banfield, director of development for event sponsor Everett Area Chamber of Commerce.

Scheduled breakout sessions include:

  • “Looking as Good as You Feel,” with plastic surgeon Dr. David Pratt.
  • “Family and Business Transitions,” with attorney Virginia Antipolo-Utt.
  • “Women and Heart Disease,” with a representative from the American Heart Association.
  • “Practical Tips for Employers,” with attorney Tracy Paul.
  • “Marketing From the Inside Out: Strategies Based on Personal Style,” with marketing professional Miriam Reiss.
  • “Smart Women Finish Rich,” with financial adviser Peter Harvey.
  • “Life is a Balancing Act and the Circus is in Town!,” with Roberta Jonnet of Community Trades & Affairs.
  • “Five Easy Steps to Creating a Fabulous Wardrobe,” with Kim Crumpler of Uniquely Savvy, a wardrobe consulting and personal buying business.
  • “Relaxation Through Deep Breathing and Visualization,” with Rishi of Rishi’s Egypt.
  • “Nutrition on the Go,” with a presenter to be determined as of press time.

Two of the sessions will be repeated throughout the day, with a total of 12 for attendees to choose from, Broome said.

A lunch buffet is scheduled for midday and will include, for the first time, a fashion show courtesy of Bon-Macy’s, Broome said, noting that the change from a luncheon speaker should give attendees a chance to network while getting a glimpse of the latest fashions.

Throughout the day, attendees also will have an opportunity to browse among vendor tables set up at the venue, she added.

Vendors scheduled to attend include Uniquely Savvy, the Everett Events Center, The Everett Clinic, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Stringer Chiropractic, South Pointe Assisted Living Residence, Immerse Spa Parties, Waddell & Reed, First Horizon Home Loans, Hanson Chiropractic, SeneGence, Pre-Paid Legal Services, University of Phoenix, Curves, Peaceful Separations, Costco, Lasting Impressions, Serendipity Home Decor, the Center for Battered Women and KeyBank.

Also, sponsors with vendor tables include Community Transit, Paine Field, McDonald’s of Everett, Kimberly-Clark, Klein Honda, the Boeing Co. and The Herald.

Other Women on the Move sponsors include Cascade Bank and Frontier Bank.
