Plans are in the
works for Gateway Plaza, a proposed 35,088-square-foot Class “A” office
building in the Mukilteo area.
With design work
completed in August, the project is under review with the Snohomish County
Department of Planning and Development Services, developer Anthony Grasst
said, adding that he expects to receive final approval and permits by
late winter.
Construction on the
steel-frame building, with three floors of office space as well as underground
and surface parking, is expected to take six months, Grasst said. With
tenant improvements taking an additional 45 to 60 days, he estimated the
project at 13131 Mukilteo Speedway would be completed by late summer 2001.
Grasst said he plans
to bring high-speed cable to the building and possibly fiber optics, if
available. Plans for Gateway Plaza also include upgraded HVAC to accommodate
computers and electronics.
Project cost, not
including the property purchase, is estimated at $4 million to $5 million,
Grasst said.
JPC Architects of
Bellevue designed the project, and Bayley Construction of Seattle is the
general contractor.
