Real estate forecast breakfast — Dec. 1
The Western Washington Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management will hold its 20th annual Forecast Breakfast on Dec. 1 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. The meeting will feature industry experts speaking on the coming year and what investors, brokers, managers and builders can expect from the market. The keynote speaker will be Lynn Michaelis, marketing and engineering specialist from Weyerhaeuser. Everett chamber awards dinner — Dec. 7
The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Night of Stars annual awards gala from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Future of Flight Center and Boeing Tour, 8415 Paine Field Blvd., in Everett. The Henry M. Jackson Citizen of the Year, Corporate Executive of the Year, Small Business Executive of the Year and Dick Stephens Community Caring are among the awards that will be presented at the “black tie optional” dinner. Tickets are $75 each with advance reservations required by Dec. 3. Reserved seating for eight is available for $600. Corporate reserved tables for eight with added benefits are available for $700. Business women expo and gala — Dec. 7
The Northwest Washington Women’s Business Center will hold its first-ever All That Glitters Expo & Gala on Dec. 7 at the Edmonds Conference Center in Edmonds. The event features a daylong marketplace bringing women-owned businesses and consumers together to shop and network and an evening gala and fund-raiser complete with a buffet dinner and entertainment. Defense and security
grants conference — Dec. 8

The Washington Technology Center and Snohomish County Economic Development Council will present a conference dedicated to help entrepreneurs secure defense and security grants from the federal government from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Museum of History & Industry in Seattle. The program will focus on what federal agencies look for in defense and security technology applications and how to successfully position a company to win one of these funding awards. EDC Annual Dinner — Dec. 8
The Snohomish County Economic Development Council will hold its Annual Dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Everett Events Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave., in Everett. Affordable Housing
Breakfast Forum — Dec. 8

The Housing Consortium of Everett and Snohomish County will hold an Affordable Housing Breakfast Forum from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Dec. 8 at Everett Station. Doors will open at 7:15 a.m. Speakers at the quarterly forum will include Rep. Mark Miloscia, chair of the Housing Committee; Rep. Mike Sells of the 38th District; and Donald Chamberlain of the Washington Families Fund. Cost to attend the event, sponsored by the Washington Community Reinvestment Association, is $10 at the door. Identity theft lecture — Dec. 11
A free lecture titled “Identity Theft — What You Need to Know” will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 11 in Triton Union Building 202 at Edmonds Community College, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Steve Hailey, who teaches classes including “Introduction to Information Security,” “Introduction to Network Security” and “Computer Forensics” at the college, will cover how to evaluate one’s privacy risks, how to greatly reduce one’s chances of becoming a victim of identity theft as well as how to successfully restore one’s identity if it is stolen.
