ACCOUNTING
Certified public accountants Heather Clark and David Fischer recently were promoted at Everett-based Hascal, Sjoholm & Co. P.S. Certified Public Accountants. Clark, who has been with the firm since 2000, was promoted to supervisor, and Fischer, who has been with the firm since 2003, was promoted to senior accountant.

ARCHITECTURE
Architect Zachary Ham has joined Everett-based Dykeman. Having recently earned a master’s of architecture degree from the University of Washington, Ham now is working on a new elementary school project for the Everett Public Schools.

AUTO
Mike Pewitt has joined Dwayne Lane’s Everett Chrysler Jeep Suzuki dealership as general manager. Pewitt, an Everett native, has more than 25 years of automotive management experience.

CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE
The Greater Edmonds Chamber of Commerce board unanimously elected six candidates to three-year terms on the board starting Jan. 1. First-year board members are Theresa Poalucci, publisher, The Journal Newspapers, and Petra Rousu, owner, the Savvy Traveler. Returning members are Bob Barley, retired bank executive; Chris Keuss, Port of Edmonds commissioner; Strom Peterson, owner, Resident Cheesemonger; and Wayne Purser, real estate agent, Coldwell Banker Bain.

Sally Kortekaas, classified advertising manager for The Herald newspaper, has been named president of the Greater Everett Area Chamber of Commerce board.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Jennifer Shelton is the new director and business development specialist for the Edmonds Community College Small Business Development Center. Shelton, who most recently was director of the Small Business Development Center at Highline Community College, has more than 12 years of business development experience in corporate, nonprofit and service business.

EDUCATION
Kelli Callahan has been named department chair of Criminal Justice for ITT Technical Institute’s new Everett campus. She has a masters’ degree in forensic science and was most recently department chair at ITT’s Tempe, Ariz., campus. Also, Shawn Rohrbach has been named associate dean for ITT Technical Institute’s Everett campus. Rohrbach formerly was the chair for the School of Information Technology at ITT.

Dick Haines has been hired as the new executive director of the Everett Public Schools Foundation. A lifelong Everett resident, Haines was retired from his family business, K&H Printers Inc.

FINANCIAL
Ruth Boschma has joined Allstate Financial Group as a personal financial representative and will offer local customers variable annuity, variable life and mutual fund products in addition to traditional life insurance and long-term-care products. Boschma has 15 years of experience in the financial services and planning industry.

Skye Belline has joined Banner Bank’s Alderwood commercial lending center as an assistant vice president and commercial loan officer. Prior to joining Banner Bank, Belline worked as a consultant for Balance Capital, funding small to midsize companies. She also has worked for Core Funding Group, First American Equity Loan Services in Chicago and National City Bank in Cleveland.

Hank Robinett has been appointed to the board of directors of First Heritage Bank. Robinett is a real estate developer and co-founder of Boyden, Robinett & Associates LP.

The board members for Everett’s Frontier Financial Corp. have approved the appointment of Patrick Fahey and David Cuthill as new independent directors to Frontier Financial and Frontier Bank’s boards, effective Jan. 1. Fahey has 38 years of banking experience. David Cuthill has 21 years of experience. Both are past presidents of the Washington Bankers’ Association.

FOOD
Anae Corina has joined StockPot as a receptionist. She has 10 years of receptionist and administrative support experience at organizations ranging from banks to cellular phone companies. Corina has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Seattle University.

GOVERNMENT
Lo-Yu Sun of Edmonds recently was re-appointed to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s National Advisory Council. He will serve a two-year term.

HEALTH CARE
Dr. David Welton has joined the UW Medicine Regional Heart Center-Alderwood cardiology clinic. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology, with additional qualification in interventional cardiology. His practice includes all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care, and he has a special interest in geriatric cardiology and cholesterol-reduction therapies. Welton joined the UW School of Medicine faculty as a clinical associate professor after 26 years of general and interventional cardiology at Sansum Santa Barbara Clinic in California.

Dr. Thomas Smith, a surgical oncologist with The Everett Clinic, was named one of the Best Doctors in America for the fifth time. The Best Doctors list is developed by asking medical professionals nationwide who they consider to be the best in their specialties. All 33,000 of the physicians included in The Best Doctors list must meet specific criteria and are checked for licensure, certification and disciplinary actions. They also are all certified or subcertified through the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Drs. Satish Subramaniam, Sara Tamarin and Zakiya Steadman have joined The Everett Clinic staff. Subramaniam, who is part of the occupational health department operating in the Gunderson Building in Everett, received his medical degree from Bharathiar University in India and completed his residency in family medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed a fellowship in occupational and environmental medicine at the University of Washington. Tamarin, who is part of the pediatrics team in Stanwood, received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of California at Davis Medical Center. Steadman, who is part of the family practice in Marysville, received her medical degree from Temple University and completed her residency at Trident Family Medicine in Charleston, S.C.

INSURANCE
Kevin Giboney has opened an Allstate Insurance Co. office in Mill Creek. Prior to joining Allstate, Giboney ran his own real estate investment company. He also has been a research analyst for regional broker/dealer, D.A. Davidson.

Snohomish Allstate Insurance Co. agent Charles Monti recently received the Agency Hands in the Community award for his commitment to volunteering in the community. With the award comes a $500 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the Children’s Village Foundation where Monti volunteers.

OFFICE EQUIPMENT
Dennis Bolger has accepted a major accounts position at IKON Office Solutions Inc. of Bellevue. Bolger has 15 years of experience in business equipment, document control, systems integration and facilities management. His primary territory focus will be with accounts in his lifelong home of Snohomish County as well as several key accounts in Seattle and Bellevue.

REAL ESTATE
Mark Frost has joined MILA Inc. as its new corporate treasurer. Reporting to Chief Financial Officer William Dougherty, Frost will be responsible for the management of a variety of capital plans as well as corporate cash flow and treasury management. Frost, who has more than 30 years of experience in finance, has held high-level positions at both the Boeing Co. and Getty Images.

Sales associates John Cook, Sue Oram and Stacy Smith have joined Windermere Real Estate’s Mill Creek office; sales associate Debbie Lamberty has joined the company’s Lake Stevens office; and sales associates Roxana Forenza, Claudette Meyer and Suzanne Pineda have joined Windermere’s Lynnwood office.

Debbie Oster and Cheri Bodine, formerly with C-21 North Homes, and longtime Monroe resident Nick Flatt recently joined RE/MAX Metro Properties.

J. Lennox Scott, chairman and chief executive of John L. Scott Real Estate, recently was inducted by the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers into the Hall of Leaders during the 2005 National Association of Realtors conference in San Francisco. The Hall of Leaders Award was established to honor real estate leaders whose significant contributions continue to shape and impact the real estate industry both locally and nationally. Scott is the third generation to run the family business, which was founded in Seattle in 1931 by his grandfather, John L. Scott. He began his career in real estate in 1976, taking over as president and chief executive of the company in 1980, and then as chairman and chief executive in 2002.

Sales associates Alex Tarasov, Rick Keene, Mark Gallagher and Rick LeClair have joined Preview Properties Inc.’s Bothell office; Gavin Spesock and Matt Lundstrom have joined the company’s Everett office; Becky Reed, Scott Reed and Cristine Badger have joined its Marysville office; and Steve Edgecomb, Heidi Fisher, Scott Palmerton and Dede Pollard have joined the company’s Stanwood office.

SPORTS
Brad Baxter has been named director of special projects for the Everett AquaSox; Nick Snyder has been named group sales associate; and Alexis Welch has been named director of merchandise. Snyder and Welch interned with the AquaSox front office staff during the 2005 season, while Baxter has been working for the team in some capacity since 1994. All three will be actively involved in group ticket sales.
