Rock Peterson, owner
of Brien Motors Ford in Everett, is closer to his goal of having “more
freedom of time” after relinquishing responsibility for two other auto
dealerships in Everett.
In December, Peterson
sold Winner Lincoln-Mercury to Becci Stupey, formerly a minority stock
owner of Harris Ford. After 15 years working at that dealership, Stupey
said it was time to venture out on her own.
Her new dealership,
which employs 33, has changed its name to Harbour Pointe Lincoln-Mercury,
Stupey said.
In January, Peterson
and longtime Brien Motors employee Gary Micallef closed a deal to buy
Brien Hyundai over a period of five years.
Although Peterson
had just acquired the Hyundai dealership a year and a half ago, he said
he “happened to have a 20-year employee ready to run his own store.” Micallef
has held positions as service manager, fixed-operations manager and general
sales manager.
Under Micallef, the
dealership name will change to Hyundai of Everett.
Peterson said that
as he “inches toward 60” he is looking forward to concentrating his focus
on Brien Motors Ford and freeing up his calendar a bit.
