Agilent leases space
in Seaway Center

SCBJ Staff

Agilent Technologies Inc. has signed a six-year lease to occupy 55,000 square feet in a south Everett office building that the Boeing Co. vacated two years ago, according to company spokeswoman Liz Cox. The structure, known as Everett Technical Park I, is located in the Seaway Center business park.

Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

In August, Agilent announced it would be leaving its 270,000-square-foot office building at 8600 Soper Hill Road just west of Lake Stevens as part of the company’s effort to consolidate offices and cut operating costs.

Cox said Agilent’s local test and measurement instruments divisions, which employ about 180 people, will use more than half of the two-story building’s space, leaving about 40,000 square feet unoccupied.

Before the company moves in this summer, the space will be remodeled to include high-tech conference rooms, a “white noise” sound-masking system and a fitness room for employees.
