Schools partner to offer online bachelor’s degree

SCBJ Staff

A bachelor of arts in social sciences degree is available online as a result of an expanded partnership between Edmonds Community College, Bellevue Community College and Washington State University.

The schools worked together to provide students with the opportunity to earn this liberal arts degree completely online, according to EdCC. Students can earn an associate’s degree in their first two years of study through the online programs at the two community colleges and then can go on to earn a bachelor’s degree from WSU by completing the final two years of the program through the university’s online programs.

The social science degree is a broad-based, interdisciplinary degree with options that include major and/or minor course concentrations in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, anthropology, history, human development, political science and business administration. Other online degrees offered jointly by the schools include associate’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees in management information systems or general business.

An informational session on these programs is scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 19 in Room 304A in Snohomish Hall on the Edmonds Community College Campus, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
