State business association recognizes four area companies

Four area companies are among the state’s best for workplace safety, training of employees and benefit and compensation programs, according to the Association of Washington Business.

Pacific Seafood of Washington, The Everett Clinic, Stevens Pass Ski Area and Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. all received 2002 Better Workplace Awards at a December ceremony in Seattle.

Mukilteo-based Pacific Seafood is one of just three companies across the state to win an award for overall excellence in the judged categories.

Two local companies show up twice on this year’s list of winners. Stevens Pass Ski Area won special awards for innovative benefit and compensation programs and for workplace safety.

The Everett Clinic also won two awards this year: a certificate of merit for workplace safety and an award for job training and advancement programs.

Canyon Creek Cabinet Co., located in Monroe, won an award for workplace safety.
