Art show reception
July 7
The Arts Council
of Snohomish County will present its 15th Juried Art Show, a biennial
exhibit featuring artists from throughout the Northwest, from July 7 through
Aug. 25, with an opening "Meet the Artists" reception from 5 to 8 p.m.
July 7 at 1507 Wall St. in downtown Everett. Both the art exhibit and

Snohomish Chamber
Clues Cruise event July 9
The Snohomish Chamber of Commerce will hold its newest event, Clues Cruise
& Poker Run, July 9. The fun-filled event pits driver and navigator against
the clock, luck of the draw and finding clues. Cost of the event is $50
for a driver and navigator, with additional passengers costing $15 each.

Tax workshop
July 12
The Everett office of the Department of Revenue is holding a free New
Business Outreach workshop to help new and small businesses understand
how to report their state taxes. The workshop will be held from 1:30 to
4:30 p.m. July 12 at the Everett Public Library, 2707 Hoyt Ave., in Everett.
Revenue staff members will explain the state's excise taxes, and participants
will have the opportunity to ask questions about how taxes specifically
apply to their businesses. Tax reporting classifications, deductions,
and sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements also will be

The Smokey Point Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly membership
meeting at 7:30 a.m. July 13 at Oberg's Banquet Facility at Hawthorn Inn
& Suites in the Smokey Point neighborhood of Arlington. The breakfast
will include a presentation by Dave Waggoner, director of Paine Field/Snohomish

Angel Ride for
Hospice July 16
The third annual Angel Ride for Hospice, benefiting Providence Hospice
of Snohomish County, will be held July 16 beginning at Pounder's Steakhouse
and Saloon, 18001 Bothell-Everett Highway, in Bothell. Attendees participating
in the benefit motorcycle ride should arrive at the restaurant between
10 and 11:30 a.m. for check-in and breakfast. The approximately 100-mile
ride leaves at noon and will end at the Monroe Eagles, in Monroe. Ride
stop sites will include Bothell, Woodinville, Carnation, Sultan and Monroe.
This year's event will include a Poker Run and a 50/50 raffle. Additional
entertainment will be provided by Rishi's Egypt Belly Dancers. To make

workshop July 19
The Washington State Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises
is providing a free workshop, "Marketing Strategies for Small Business,"
from 9 a.m. to noon July 19 at the SBA Education & Training Center, 1200
Sixth Ave., Suite 1700, in downtown Seattle. The U.S. Small Business Administration-sponsored
event will address how to find and keep customers, using marketing tools
to increase sales and customer satisfaction, and creating a marketing

golf tourney July 22
The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its seventh annual Golf
Tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. July 22 at Legion Memorial Golf Course, 144
W. Marine View Drive, in Everett. New this year are executive foursomes,
which include valet bag service, reserved parking, pre-function lunch,
duffel bag, free beverages and a golf jacket, among other things. Cost
to participate is $95 for single attendees, $380 for foursomes and $1,200

Accounting association
meeting July 27
The Seattle Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants will
hold its monthly dinner meeting July 27 at the College Club of Seattle,
505 Madison St., in Seattle. Julie Lockhart, chair of Western Washington
University's department of accounting, will discuss environmental and
sustainability accounting issues, including reporting, analysis, disclosure
and managerial decision-making. The event will begin with a 5:30 p.m.
social hour, to be followed by dinner and then the speaker. Cost to attend
is $25 for association members and faculty, $27 for guests, $17 for student
members, $19 for student guests and $3 for those wanting coffee only.

Owners luncheon July 28
Women Business Owners will hold its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. July 28 at the Washington Athletic Club, 1325 Sixth Ave., in
Seattle. Trish Millines Dziko of the Technology Access Foundation will
be the speaker. Cost to attend is $29 for members who prepay, $36 for
members paying after the deadline, $40 for nonmembers who prepay and $45
