Everett Parks and Recreation Director Bob Cooper retired May 31, taking with him 30 years of city employment, 19 with the Parks Department. Susan Francisco, Assistant Parks Director, received the mayor’s appointment to move into the director’s position June 1. “Bob has been both a friend and a mentor,” Francisco said, “He’s leaving the Park Department in excellent shape with a solid framework for the future.” Appointed Park Director in 1983, Cooper has added more than 450 acres of land and open space and 12 miles of trails to the park system.

US Marine, manufacturer of Bayliner and Maxum brands of pleasure boats and Trophy sportfishing boats, has appointed Jeffrey Vaughn Vice President of Sales. Vaughn, who has more than 15 years of experience in marine sales and dealer/manufacturer relationships, will oversee the sales and distribution efforts for all three US Marine brands.

Donnie Rhodes has been appointed Branch Manager for Cascade Bank’s Harbour Pointe office. He has worked for the bank for more than four years, most recently as Assistant Manager at the Harbour Pointe branch. Jennifer Naumann has been appointed Branch Manager for Cascade’s Clearview office. She has more than 12 years of banking experience as a Senior Personal Banker, Commercial Banking Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.

Edmonds Community College recently selected John Michaelson to serve as its Interim Vice President of Student Services, replacing George Smith, who went to Skagit Valley College to serve as its Interim President. Michaelson, previously Dean of Student Services at Wenatchee Valley College, has more than 20 years experience as an instructor, counselor, basketball coach and administrator at community colleges in Washington state.

Edward Snow II has joined Sparling, an electrical engineering and technology consulting firm, as a Project Manager in the technology studio. Snow has more than 35 years of experience in telecommunications and technology system design for major commercial, educational, military and government facilities in the Puget Sound area. His current projects include the Bellingham Municipal Court Remodel, South Seattle Community College Technology Center and the Idaho Water Center.

Dianne Bjorn, owner of The Maids Home Services of South Snohomish and North King Counties, has received the President’s Club Award for sales performance and business growth in 2001.

Bill Hoffman has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors for Coastal Community Bank. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Bill Savery. As one of the original founders of the bank, Hoffman has served on the board since its inception.

Kathryn Bennett has been named Executive Director of the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross, relieving Interim Director Terry Ollis. Bennett will take on her new duties after having served as Executive Director of the Washington/Alaska Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Mari M. Hamasaki of CDi Engineers has earned her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Professional Accreditation through the U.S. Green Building Council. This certification means she has demonstrated her knowledge of green building design, practices and strategies and her understanding of the LEED Green Building Rating System, resources and processes. Klaus Tilla and Greg Romaniuk have joined Lynnwood-based CDi. Tilla previously was a project manager with McGowan Broz Engineers. Romaniuk previously was employed at Wood/Harbinger Inc. and brings more than seven years of experience to his role of mechanical engineer.

Fred Sirianni, a financial professional with the Everett office of U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, has been named Assistant Vice President of Investments. Sirianni has been with U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray since 1994. Prior to that, he was a benefits consultant with William M. Mercer Inc. for six years.

Debbie Sawatzky, Operations Manager of North County Bank, has been promoted to Vice President/ Operations Manager. She has been with the bank since it opened in April 1999.

Coralynne Fulmer has joined John L. Scott’s Lynnwood real estate team. Fulmer is new to real estate and has a background in retail management.

The Snohomish County PUD Credit Union has promoted Susan Webster to Vice President/CFO. She was formerly Chief Financial Officer and will continue as such within her new position.

Ross Maynard has joined Frontier Bank as Senior Vice President and Cashier. He formerly was Chief Financial Officer for Towne Bank, which later became Banner Bank. Most recently, he coordinated that bank’s integration and conversion.

Brenda Felder has been named the new Snohomish and Monroe Advertising Representative for The Herald newspaper. She replaces Karen Kaufman, who was named New Business Account Representative in April.
