Business-writing workshop — June 4
Dr. Julie Miller, founder and president of Business Writing That Counts!, will present her “Business Bill of Writes” workshop from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 4 at the University Center at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave., Suite 200, in Everett.

The interactive, fast-paced session will present timesaving techniques along with immediately adoptable strategies to produce quality documents and enhanced written communications.

Cost to attend the workshop is $50 for those who pre-register by June 1 and $55 for those registering at the door. The fee includes a workbook.

Commercial HVAC system controls
— June 12

As part of its “Energy Pro” seminar series, the Snohomish County PUD will offer a seminar from 9 to 11 a.m. June 12 on heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system controls, addressing the direct digital controls as applied to commercial HVAC systems.

The session will cover operations including confirmation of schedules, verifying control operations, trending, alarm utilization, run-time analysis, demand limiting, load shedding, as well as the latest in control strategies for energy conservation.

The seminar will be held at PUD headquarters, 2320 California St., in Everett.

Long-term care, assisted-living forum
— June 17, 19

A forum on “Long-term Care Planning, Asset Protection Strategies and Assisted-living Options” will be held June 17 and 19 at Merrill Gardens at Stanwood, 7212 265th St. NW.

Two dates and times are available — noon June 17, with a complimentary lunch, or 4:30 p.m. June 19, with a complimentary light dinner. Both will include a panel of experts in the fields of elder law, finances and retirement care, with time afterward for questions to be answered.
