Happy 100th birthday
to the AWB

Congratulations to the Association of Washington Business, celebrating its 100th year of service to the state’s businesses this year.

Since 1904 it has been Washington’s largest and most prominent business organization, acting as the state’s chamber of commerce. Membership in AWB has grown to 4,100 members employing more than 600,000 workers in the state’s private sector.

Membership includes large companies such as Boeing, Microsoft and Weyerhaeuser, but 85 percent of its membership involves small to medium-size businesses with fewer than 100 employees. One-third of AWB’s members hire fewer than 10 employees.

AWB President Don Brunell also maintains contact with chambers of commerce in Snohomish County and across the state, keeping them current on legislation and business-related activities in Olympia while keeping tabs on grassroots business interests and concerns.

Together, Brunell and his staff provide an invaluable service to businesses of all sizes in Washington state. We wish them well in their next century of service.
