Calendar of Events

Campaign for Kids Lunch — June 3
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County will hold its Campaign for Kids Lunch on June 3 at the Everett Events Center. The goal of the event is to raise $150,000 to ensure that every child, regardless of their ability to pay, can participate in club activities. The event also will include presentation of the HERO award, which is given to an outstanding member of the community. This year, the HERO award will be presented to Jim Gaffney of Gaffney Construction. For more information or to reserve a spot, call 425-258-2436. There is no cost for the lunch.

Chamber Golf Classic — June 7
The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Chamber Golf Classic on June 7 at Harbour Pointe Golf Club, 11817 Harbour Pointe Blvd., in Mukilteo. Registration for the scramble-type tournament begins at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The event includes 18 holes of golf as well as an awards banquet. Cost is $140 if registered by June 4 and includes range balls, a covered golf cart, a box lunch, two raffle tickets and the awards banquet. Monroe Chamber meeting — June 8
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce will hold a membership meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8 at the New Horizon Christian Church. A presentation on minimizing the impact of the new unemployment insurance tax law will be given. Reservations must be made by June 4. For more information, call 360-794-5488.

Business publication editors seminar — June 10
The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Society of Business Publication Editors is holding its inaugural chapter program, “Tricks of the Trade,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10. Cost for the program, which will be held at Adobe Systems, 801 N. 34th St., Seattle, is $15 in advance and $20 at the door (cash and checks only). A buffet lunch will be served. Good Morning, Snohomish County! — June 11
This premier networking breakfast, set for 7:15 to 9 a.m. June 11 at the Quality Inn and Conference Center in south Everett, includes attendees from all of Snohomish County’s chambers of commerce as well as display tables available for marketing materials. Cost for the event is $18 for chamber members paying before June 8 and $21 for chamber members paying after June 8. EDC luncheon — June 16
The Snohomish County Economic Development Council will hold its second-quarter Economic Update Luncheon from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Embassy Suites, 20610 44th Ave .W., in Lynnwood. A presentation on how to prepare for and profit from the 2010 Olympics will be given featuring Carl Wilgus, the director of travel for the state of Idaho. Cascade Dialogues Luncheon — June 23
The Cascade Land Conservancy is spearheading the Cascade Dialogues, a regional conversation on conservation and land use. A Snohomish County Dialogues session is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 23 at The Manor, 13032 Admiralty Way, in Everett. A panel of local experts in the fields of land use, development, wildlife and conservation will be on hand.
