BIOTECH
Michelle Burris has been appointed to the board of directors of
Bothell’s Sonus Pharmaceuticals. She is senior vice president and chief
financial officer of Corixa Corp. of Seattle.
CONSTRUCTION
Steve Otis has been promoted to field operations manager at University
Mechanical Contractors of Mukilteo. He previously was senior project manager.
In addition, Maria Boyer has been promoted to construction manager,
Mike McNeil has been designated purchasing and expediting manager
and Brett Endres has been named chief estimator.
Tim Sexton
has been appointed production coordinator at HCI Steel Building Systems
Inc. of Arlington. Also, Gary Watson has been appointed to customer
service and John Spain to the engineering department.
EDUCATION
Vance Roley will be interim dean of the University of Washington
Business School while the university searches for a replacement for Yash
Gupta, who is leaving to become dean at the University of Southern
California. Roley now is associate dean for academic and faculty affairs
and a finance professor.
ENGINEERING &
ENVIRONMENTAL
Chris Johnson, a senior mechanical designer for CDi Engineers of
Lynnwood, has successfully completed the U.S. Green Building Council’s
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accreditation Examination
and is now a LEED Accredited Professional.
Jeff Lundstrom
has been hired by Perteet Engineering as the director of its new highway
design division. He formerly worked at the Washington state Department
of Transportation.
FINANCIAL
Ruth Bagge has been hired as vice president and manager of Cascade
Bank’s main office branch in downtown Everett. Bagge has 25 years of banking
experience, including positions as vice president, branch manager, loan
officer and marketing manager.
Kathleen Cotton,
president of Cotton Financial Advisors Inc. of Lynnwood, has been elected
to the west region board of the National Association of Personal Financial
Advisors. She will serve a two-year term.
Investment representative
Jessica Pavish, formerly of Piper Jaffray, has joined the investment
firm of Edward Jones. Her office is at 5129 Evergreen Way, Suite G, in
Everett.
Frontier Bank recently
promoted a number of staff members, including Tammi Cross to assistant
vice president/assistant auditor of the audit department, Holly Kluin
to assistant vice president/manager of the bank’s Lake Stevens office,
Cathy Moylan to accounting officer of Frontier Financial Corp.,
Dirk Muyskens to assistant vice president/commercial loan officer
of the bank’s Bothell office, Robin Reinig to senior vice president/manager
of the bank’s Marysville office, Mel Takehara to vice president/commercial
loan officer of the bank’s Marysville office and Julie Sager to
training officer of the training department.
HEALTH CARE
Cheryl Heiner is a new certified medical assistant having graduated
from the program at Eton Technical Institute in Everett.
Michael Lloyd
has joined The Everett Clinic as the new director of risk management.
Lloyd, of Mill Creek, has more than 20 years of experience in the field.
David Newman
is the director of the Lynnwood drug treatment facility of CRC Health
Corp. He has worked as a counselor and supervisor in the field for 10
years and been certified by the Chemical Dependency Certification Board.
HOSPITALITY
Jeremy Pichler of Everett recently received the Ray Kroc Award,
an annual performance-based award that recognizes the top 1 percent of
McDonald’s restaurant managers in the country. Pichler, manager of the
McDonald’s location in Woodinville, has worked for the company since 1997,
when he started out as a crew member. After less than a year he was promoted
to manager.
Eddie Tadlock
has been hired as general manager for the Lynnwood Convention Center now
under construction.
INSURANCE
Ray Pel, an Everett Allstate agent, has received the company’s
Hands in the Community award for his work with the American Cancer Society.
Pel participates in the society’s Relay for Life. As part of the recognition,
the society will get a $500 donation from Allstate.
MARKETING
Sales representatives Jay Christensen, Ed Hall, Kathryn Schultz and
Bill Schwartz recently joined MacGregor Publishing Co. and have
begun advertising sales for its new Everett and Vicinity Directory and
South Snohomish County Directory, as well as the 5-year-old North Snohomish
County Directory.
MEDIA
Nancy Stewart has joined the Snohomish County Business Journal
as an advertising account executive. Stewart previously was an advertising
representative with Harmon Publishing.
NONPROFITS
The Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross has five new members
on its board of directors, including Sabrina Layman, a partner
in the law firm of Brewe Layman in Everett; Leslie Hynes, a public
information officer for Snohomish County Fire District No. 1; Mar Tobiason,
a volunteer member of the local Red Cross Disaster Action Team; Dr. Steve
Dahlberg, a family-practice doctor at The Everett Clinic’s Harbour
Pointe clinic; and Don Schwab, a captain with the Everett Fire
Department.
Deborah Petritz
and John McAlpine have been hired by Catholic Community Services
of Everett as recruiters of volunteers. Petritz will work for the Retired
Senior Volunteer Program, and McAlpine is looking for people to drive
elderly or disabled clients in rural Snohomish County to doctors’ visits
and on essential errands.
REAL ESTATE
Diane McGraw and Gwen Piscopo have joined Windermere Real
Estate’s Mill Creek office as sales associates. Both are new to the industry.
Colleen Purvis
has joined Windermere’s Everett office as a sales associate. She previously
was a supervisor with Verizon Information Services in Everett.
Susan Toms,
formerly employed in restaurant management, and Dorrine Zelmer,
previously a technical writer, have joined Windermere’s Monroe office
as sales associates; and sales associate Teri Powell, previously
involved with business telecommunications, has joined the company’s Mukilteo
office.
RETAIL/SALES
Amanda Depot of Mukilteo has been named to Avon Products Inc.’s
Circle of Excellence for district sales managers. The award goes to those
among the top 10 percent of district managers nationally for sales growth.
Armand and
Kelly Schommer have been named sales representatives for CleanSpace
Northwest, a dealer of crawl-space encapsulation systems.
