Business networking meetings — Thursdays
LeTip, a Mill Creek business networking group, meets every Thursday for the exchange of business referrals. Transportation presentation — June 1
The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce will host “Transportation Solutions: Facts & Myths,” a transportation presentation and luncheon to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 1 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 20610 44th Ave. W., in Lynnwood. Rick Larsen, a Washington State congressman; Dave Earling, a senior fellow with Cascadia Center for Transportation & Regional Development; and other transportation experts will offer a comprehensive view of regional issues and solutions. Arlington Chamber golf tourney — June 3
The annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser sponsored by the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce will be held June 3 at Gleneagle Country Club. The event includes 18 holes of golf, steak and salmon barbecue, and the Great Chamber Raffle. There also will be $10,000 worth of hole-in-one prizes and trophies. Entrepreneurial training course
— June 7, 14, 21 and July 12, 19, 26

To help local entrepreneurs plan and start a successful business, the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Northwest Washington Women’s Business Center and the Tulalip Tribes’ Tribal Employment Rights Office, is offering an entrepreneurial development certificate program known as NxLevel Entreprenurial Training. It is the first entrepreneurial training being offered by the chamber’s newly launched Entrepreneurial Development Center. The series of classes will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 7, 14, 21 and July 12, 19, 26 at the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce office. Cost is $300 per participant. In addition to basic business skills and business plan preparation, the certificate program will provide practical guidance in bookkeeping, marketing, financial projections and negotiating with lenders. Participants also will receive access to free individual consulting before each class and during the course to ensure the personal goals of the participants are met. Additionally, the NWWBC will offer four hours of business counseling to each participant at no additional cost. State tax workshop — June 8
The Everett office of the Department of Revenue is holding a free New Business Outreach workshop to help new and small businesses understand how to report their state taxes. Conference on exporting — June 8 and 9
Complying with U.S. Export Controls, an event hosted by the Bureau of Industry and Security and the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 8 and 9 at the Red Lion Hotel Downtown, 1415 5th Ave., in Seattle. United Way breakfast — June 9
United Way’s Spirit of Snohomish County Breakfast, which recognizes five of the community’s most remarkable volunteers, is set for 7 a.m. June 9 at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Former NFL great and Vietnam veteran Rocky Bleier will offer the keynote address. The breakfast is open to the public; however, seating is limited. Cost is $20, which includes a full breakfast. Work Opportunities auction — June 9
Work Opportunities, a nonprofit organization promoting self-determination, self-respect and valued participation in the community for people with disabilities through employment opportunities, will hold its third annual Dinner, Auction and Celebration of Abilities on June 9 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Edmonds Conference Center, 201 Fourth Ave. N., in Edmonds. Biz Bash 2005 — June 15
A business showcase and networking gathering, Biz Bash 2005, presented by Comcast, is set for June 15 at the Monte Cristo Hotel Ballroom, 1507 Wall St., in Everett. The event, sponsored by the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce and the Snohomish County Business Journal, will include a kick-off reception that starts at 4:30 p.m., followed by the 5 to 7 p.m. program. Business planning seminar — June 16
Travel, Meetings & Incentives Inc. is sponsoring a free class, “P Is For Planning: The Business Plan Made SIMPLE,” from 1 to 3 p.m. June 16 at its offices, 16504 Ninth Ave. SE, Suite 101, in Mill Creek. Business consultant Maria Marsala will present information on writing a business plan, including the “five essential ingredients every business plan must have to be successful.” Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch and eat while they learn. South County Chamber
golf tourney — June 17

The South Snohomish County Chamber’s annual Chamber Golf Classic will be held June 17 at the Harbour Pointe Golf Club in Mukilteo. Registration begins at 7 a.m., followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The awards banquet will follow the tournament at about 1 p.m. Cost is $140 per person, $560 for a foursome.
