BUSINESS CONSULTING
Al Aldrich, formerly with the Snohomish County PUD, will join the
senior business strategy team at Strategies 360.
CONSTRUCTION
Following the retirement of Jim Cline, Buzz Tompkins recently was
promoted from shop foreman to shop superintendent at HCI Steel Building
Systems Inc. Also, Stacey Gunn has returned to HCI after a brief
absence to work in research and development and MBS system maintenance;
Jerry Scott and Charles Cooksey have joined the company’s estimating
department; and Anita Stuestall now heads up HCI shipping.
EDUCATION
Michelle Jacobs has been named library coordinator for ITT Technical
Institute’s Everett campus.
ENGINEERING &
ENVIRONMENTAL
Brian Butler, a senior associate in Landau Associates’ Edmonds
office, was appointed to the Oregon State University department of geoscience
board of advisers.
Charles “Chip”
Halbert has been promoted to development services manager at Landau
Associates; Michelle Ramos has been promoted to geotechnical group
manager; Benni Jonsson has been promoted to staff engineer; Shannon
Moore has been promoted to senior project scientist; and Anne Halvorsen
has been promoted to senior project scientist. Recently joining Landau
are Anthony Katsaros, senior environmental planner; Sacha Maxwell,
staff scientist; and Chris Anderson, staff scientist. And Gary
Huitsing, staff engineer at Landau, and Dana Olcott, senior
staff engineer, recently passed the professional engineer exam.
Lisa Pyper
recently was promoted from inspector to project manager at Mayes Testing
Engineers Inc. Pyper has been with Mayes for 14 years, holds WABO licenses
for all inspection disciplines and has extensive school project experience.
Transportation planner
Jonathan Dong has joined Everett-based consulting firm Perteet
Inc. His background includes transit station planning, transportation
comprehensive plans, public outreach for transportation projects and commute-trip
reduction programs. Darrell Smith, a professional engineer, has
joined Perteet. He previously worked for the city of Edmonds as its traffic
engineer, in charge of planning and managing the city’s transportation
infrastructure. And Eric Irelan has joined Perteet as a transportation
planner. He has worked in both Skagit and Snohomish counties in transportation
planning.
Mark Stavig, Jill
Connell, Lisa Rosenow, Robert Kuchcinski, Marc Rypdahl and Frank
Colon recently joined the engineering staff of CDi Engineers in Lynnwood.
Varun Peter has
joined Everett-based PCSI Design as a lead engineer. A graduate of the
University of Washington with a degree in industrial design, Peter has
led projects and been a free-lance designer. Past work experience includes
having held positions as an industrial medical designer, contract project
manager, sales team manager, graphic artist, Web designer and digital
filmmaker.
EVENT PLANNING
Adam Cook has been named event manager for the Everett Events Center,
and Michelle Daniels has been named event coordinator for the Everett
Events Center. Cook formerly was the event coordinator for the center,
and Daniels has joined the event services department as a full-time employee
after serving as a part-time event coordinator for the past six months.
FINANCIAL
Lisa Martinez was hired as an administrative assistant/transaction
coordinator in the downtown Everett branch of Mortgage Advisory Group.
She previously was employed by 1st Security Bank of Washington in Mountlake
Terrace.
Leyla Kunimoto
has joined Prime Pacific Bank as a consumer products loan officer at the
Lynnwood branch. Previously, Kunimoto worked for AIG as a consumer loan
officer.
Denise Sullivan
has been promoted to assistant credit review officer in the credit
administration department at Frontier Bank. Also, Brenna Decker
has been promoted to new accounts officer at the bank’s Arlington office.
GOVERNMENT
The Board of Health for Snohomish County has elected Snohomish County
Councilman Gary Nelson to chair the group for 2006. Marysville
City Councilwoman Donna Wright was elected vice chair. The Board
of Health, comprising 15 county and city elected officials, oversees the
policy and budget of the Snohomish Health District. Other board members
are Michelle Angrick (Mountlake Terrace), Ken Berger (Monroe),
Heather Coleman (Lake Stevens), Jim Flower (Sultan), Dave
Gossett (County Council/District 4), John Koster (County Council/District
1), Mark Lamb (Bothell), Richard Marin (Edmonds), Drew
Nielsen (Everett), Bruce Richter (Mukilteo), Dave Somers
(County Council/District 5), Kirke Sievers (County Council/District
2) and Jim Smith (Lynnwood).
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Sara Wees has joined The Everett Clinic’s Vision Center in
Everett. Previously, she spent three years working for the U.S. Army and
most recently worked as an optometrist at Costco in Everett.
John Beltz has
joined Valley General Hospital as its new chief financial officer. Beltz
formerly was the CFO of a 125-bed hospital in Pennsylvania for almost
20 years.
Jodie Swanson
recently received her certified medical assistant credential. Swanson,
a graduate of the medical assisting program at Everett Community College,
is employed by The Everett Clinic, Marysville branch.
INSURANCE
Lee Woodard recently relocated his Farmers Insurance Agency office
from south Seattle to the Evergreen Professional Center, 6320 Evergreen
Way, Suite 211, in Everett. Woodard has owned and operated a Farmers office
for 32 years and handles several lines of insurance, including auto, homeowner,

NONPROFITS
The Greater Everett Community Foundation has new board members for 2006,
including: Becky Foster of Bruce & Becky’s Interiors, Bruce
McKinnon from Gamut 360 Holdings, Ross Rettenmier with Sentra
Securities Group and Hap Wertheimer of Hap’s Garden Design. The
foundation also has elected its 2006 board officers: Mark Nesse of
Everett Public Libraries, president; Gigi Burke of Crown Distributing,
vice president; Rich Anderson of Hascal, Sjoholm & Co., treasurer;
and Maggie Faulkner, a community volunteer, secretary.
Terry Clark
has joined Little Red School House as managing director. She joined the
nonprofit organization in January following 18 years in various positions
of leadership with Compass Health. Barbara George will continue
oversight of the agency as executive director, while Clark manages the
day-to-day operations of the organization.
REAL ESTATE
Sales associate Beau Betts, who specializes in the north King and
south Snohomish County real estate market for John L. Scott Real Estate,
recently completed a luxury home marketing training course offered by
The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing in Portland, Ore.
Pat Lord has
been installed as director for the Snohomish-Camano Association of Realtors
to serve a two-year term.
Everett Mayor Ray
Stephanson has been named 2005 Citizen of the Year by the Snohomish
County-Camano Association of Realtors. Also, Jean Tank, who serves
on the board of directors of the National Association of Realtors, received
the Realtor of the Year Award. Sharon Harriss of Windermere/M.H.
Inc. in Everett received the Realtor Community Service Award; Bill
Steffener, a sales associate with RE/MAX Northwest in Everett, received
the Frank Nardo Realtor Achievement Award; and Dyann Arthur, a
home loan consultant with Countrywide Home Loans, received the Affiliate
of the Year Award.
Paul Luczyk, owner
of “A” TEAM Home Inspection Inc. of Mukilteo, recently attended Inspection
World 2006.

its Commercial-Everett office. Guy has more than 20 years of experience

TECHNOLOGY
Thomas Hartwick has joined the board of directors of Aculight Corp.,
which provides laser-system solutions for national defense, aerospace
and medical application needs. Hartwick has spent nearly 50 years in high-technology
business management and research and development.
