Everett waterfront focus
of meeting, project

Herald Business Journal Staff

A national expert on waterfront development will lead a discussion about future changes in Everett’s waterfront at an 11 a.m. town-hall-style meeting May 5 at the Snohomish County PUD Auditorium in downtown Everett.

The program is part of The Herald’s Waterfront Renaissance Project, an effort to stimulate community involvement in the redevelopment of four major pieces of public property along Possession Sound and the Snohomish River.

The Herald has received a $15,000 grant from the Pew Center for Civic Journalism. The project also includes:

  • A four-part series of articles in The Herald focusing on current waterfront situations and the possibilities for the future.
  • A clickable map on the Internet at www.heraldnet.com in which users will be able to conduct a simulated development of four waterfront areas.
  • A video on our waterfronts.
  • Radio station KSER will interview waterfront experts and broadcast the town-hall meeting.
