Benefit dinner,
auction — May 3
The Arlington Boys & Girls Club is holding its ninth annual Western Round-up
BBQ Dinner and Auction on May 3, with the silent auction beginning at
5:30 p.m. and dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. The live auction will follow

“Celebrate Spring
Breakfast” — May 8
The Everett Medic One Foundation’s Heart Saver school program will be
the topic at the foundation’s “Celebrate Spring Breakfast.” The breakfast

ADA presentation
— May 8
“What’s Reasonable About ADA Accommodations?” will be the topic when the
Snohomish County chapter of the Northwest Human Resource Management Association
meets at noon May 8 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Center, 101
128th St. SE, Everett. The speaker will be Jeannette Lenio, the district
director of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The cost is $20

The Snohomish County Chapter of Credit Unions will host a legislative

Hazardous-materials
seminar — May 8
The Snohomish County PUD will hold a seminar for its business customers
on hazardous materials associated with electrical equipment and how to
handle them from 9 to 11 a.m. May 8 at the district’s headquarters, 2320
California St., in Everett. Proper disposal of items such as fluorescent
lamps and ballasts, computers, monitors and batteries will be covered.

forum — May 13
As part of its continuing Global Issues Forum, Henry Cogswell College
will present Dr. Stephen E. Hanson, Boeing international professor of
political science and director of Russian, East European and Central Asian
studies program at the University of Washing-ton’s Henry M. Jackson School
of International Studies. He will address the topic “What Has Happened
to the U.S./Russian Partnership?” at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Monte Cristo

Interior-design
lecture series —
May 21, 28
In May, the Seattle chapter of the International Interior Design Association
will host a lecture series, “Pioneers No Boundaries,” highlighting national
pioneering design professionals. Each lecture will include a social time
from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., followed by the speaker from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
and a reception afterward.

creator of Clodagh Design and Clodagh Signature, will be the featured

Roofing training
expo — May 17
The Roofing Training and Technology Expo 2003 is set for 7:30 a.m. to
5 p.m. May 17 at Snyder Roofing, 20203 Broadway Ave. in Snohomish. Organized
by local roofing contractors, the free event will include lunch and a
day of training courses concerning material application techniques as

“Women on the Move”

The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce presents the 8th annual “Women On
The Move” conference from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 20 at the Howard Johnson
Plaza Hotel in Everett. The event will include inspirational speakers,
workshops and a business exposition to enhance the professional and personal
lives of women. Keynote speakers will be Marian York of WORDpower and
Tamra Fleming of Entresoul. York will discuss how to increase performance
and communicate effectively, while Fleming, a former vice president for
Starbucks, will present “Energy Wisdom — Tools for Vitality.” Event registration

Networking workshop

The Everett Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training is offering a
workshop titled “Take Your Networking to the Next Level: Get More Referrals

will learn how to establish a referral base, find a board of advisors
