BIOTECH
Clay Siegall, the president and chief executive officer of Seattle Genetics, has been named interim chairman of the company’s board of directors as well. He replaces H. Perry Fell, one of the Bothell company’s co-founders, who is leaving his post as chairman to focus on his new role as chief executive officer of NanoString Technologies.

CONSTRUCTION
Sam Anderson, the executive officer of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties, has been named secretary/treasurer of the Executive Officers Council of the National Association of Home Builders, and chairman of the Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County.

ENGINEERING & ENVIRONMENTAL
David Carlson has joined Higa Burkholder Associates of Everett as a planner and site designer. He has more than 20 years of experience in planning, engineering and development. James Kresege and Peter Landry have also joined the firm as civil engineers. Kresege has 38 years of experience in the field. Landry has seven years of engineering experience and has a background in geology.

FINANCIAL
Jack Albright has been promoted to vice president and properties manager for Cascade Bank’s 15 branches. Albright has worked for Cascade Bank for nine years and has an additional 10 years of experience in construction and facilities management.

David Duce has been elected chairman of the board of Cascade Financial Corp. He has been a director since 1991, and is a former vice chairman. He replaces Frank McCord, who is stepping down as chairman but retaining his seat on the board.

Katie Ferguson has joined Coastal Community Bank as a home mortgage consultant, based in the bank’s downtown Everett office at 2817 Colby Ave. Ferguson has more than 20 years of mortgage lending experience.

Shana Allen and Nancy Larsen of EvergreenBank have been promoted to new positions. Allen has been promoted to assistant vice president, and Larsen has advanced to the position of operations officer. Both work on behalf of all four EvergreenBank locations in Seattle, Lynnwood, Bellevue and Federal Way.

Jeff Jordan has been named North Puget Sound District manager for Wells Fargo. He will supervise 12 Wells Fargo locations, including the branches at Alderwood, Bothell, Canyon Park, Edmonds, Frontier Village, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Martha Lake, Monroe and Snohomish.

HEALTH CARE
David Brooks has been named chief operating officer for Providence Everett Medical Center. Based at Providence’s Colby campus, he will have overall responsibility for programs and services at each Providence Everett site. He previously was senior vice president and chief operating officer at Central Dupage Health in Winfield, Ill.

Jessica Vitlar has joined Mukilteo Physical Therapy as a therapist. Vitlar has a master’s degree from Gannon University in Pennsylvania and will provide traditional patient therapy. Also, Mukilteo Physical Therapy has a new team member in Tyra Malmborg-O’Kelley, who has more than 17 years of experience in treating patients in physical therapy. A certified Pilates instructor, Malmborg-O’Kelley will bring Pilates training to the clinic, which now has a dedicated area for instruction, including specialized equipment.

John Morin is a new sales representative for World Medical Equipment Inc., a company specializing in refurbished and new operating equipment in Marysville. Morin previously was with Paccom Electronics and Radar Electric.

HOSPITALITY
Greg Dietl, general manager of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Bothell, recently was presented with the President’s Award of Excellence – General Manager of the Year — 2003 from Navin Dimond, president of Stonebridge Hospitality Co., which owns and manages the hotel. The award is presented to a general manager who has shown great accomplishments in their local community involvement, excellence in Marriott International Quality Assurance reviews and superior scores in guest satisfaction, among others.

LAW
Attorney James B. Dolan has joined the Elder Law Offices of Barry M. Meyers, a firm with locations in Bellingham, Mount Vernon and Everett. He will represent clients in matters involving financial, mental and physical abuse of vulnerable adults, as well as guardianships, probates, trusts, powers of attorney and criminal matters involving elders. Dolan previously served as deputy prosecuting attorney in Skagit County, where he was instrumental in creating a dedicated Domestic Violence Unit within the Prosecutor’s Office and securing a grant for $597,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice to fund the unit.

NONPROFITS
Al Boren, vice president of planning and development for YMCA of Snohomish County, recently received the NAYDO Eagle Award for excellence in fund raising. NAYDO is the North American YMCA Development Organization. Boren was selected from nominations submitted by YMCAs throughout the United States and Canada.

RETAIL/SALES
Tom Harville of Edmonds has been elected to the board of directors of Recreational Equipment Inc. Harville is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of the Bon Marche.

VETERINARY
Dr. Cary Waterhouse has joined Lynnwood Veterinary Center as its medical director. He received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
