AEROSPACE
Bill Ashworth has been named president of Goodrich Corp.’s
aviation technical services division in Everett. He’ll replace Eric
Schulz, who has been appointed president of Goodrich’s actuation systems
division. Ashworth has been with Goodrich in Everett for more than 10
years, most recently as vice president of operations. He has more than
35 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Goodrich, he
was vice president and general manager for two companies that do similar
maintenance, repair and overhaul work on transport airplanes.
AUTOMOTIVE
Hugh Hall of Performance Kia of Everett was selected for the Kia
President’s Club for outstanding sales in 2005. He was one of 49 Kia dealers
selected for the honor from among 650 dealerships.
CHAMBERS
OF COMMERCE
The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce has named four new board
members, including John Caulfield, city manager, city of Mountlake
Terrace; Patricia DeGroodt, chief strategic officer, Providence
Everett Medical Center; Steve Nolen, city manager, city of Mill
Creek; and Cyndi Schaeffer, executive director, Business and Training
Center, Edmonds Community College.
ENGINEERING
& ENVIRONMENTAL
Three staff members of CDi Engineers of Lynnwood recently were recognized
by the Puget Sound Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating
and Air Conditioning Engineers for projects demonstrating outstanding
achievement in the application of technology in design. Ed Langebartel
was awarded first place in new industrial facilities for his work
on a new central plant for St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Ore. Jim
Grimm was awarded first place in new commercial buildings for his
work on Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center’s new medical
office building Seattle. And Finn Jakobsen received honorable mention
in new health-care facilities for the new Surgery Pavilion at the University
of Washington Medical Center.
Mark McDonough
and Brittney Baldwin have joined Shockey/Brent Inc. as associate
planners. McDonough has completed multiple internships with the cities
of Normandy Park, Lakewood and Tacoma, and Baldwin previously worked in
Antarctica, assisting scientific research teams with wildlife surveys
and aquatic analysis. Kristi Remle has joined Shockey/Brent as
a senior planner. She has more than eight years of expertise in land-use
planning, having spent more than six years in local government and a couple
of years in private consulting work.
Jonathan Childers
and C.K. Eidem have joined Perteet, an Everett-based engineering,
planning and surveying consulting firm. Childers, a senior project manager,
has prepared state and federal environmental impact analyses, biological
assessments and sustainable community and infrastructure development plans.
Eidem has documented wetlands and critical areas as an intern for Snohomish
County. He also designed the fish-exclusion protocol for county construction
projects. Transportation planner Rishi Rao has joined Perteet as
a senior project manager, specializing in transportation-demand models
and multi-modal planning. Previously, Rao was the principal of Rao Associates
Inc. of Seattle. He also worked for the cities of Seattle and Bellevue.
Jennifer Warnick is Perteet’s new technical writer and editor for
transportation planning and engineering documents. Previously Warnick
was a reporter for the Herald in Everett, where she wrote news, feature
and enterprise stories. Professional land surveyors Jerry Franklin
and Jon Garvin joined Perteet. Franklin, a senior project manager,
has more than 25 years of experience, and Garvin has expertise in real-time
kinetic and global positioning system technology. Julie Sentkowski
joins Perteet in the role of marketing coordinator. She has 10 years of
experience as a marketing manager in the software industry.
EVENTS/HOSPITALITY
Rich Stewart has been named director of finance for the Everett
Events Center. He will oversee all financial and accounting functions
for the center. Previously, Stewart spent 20 years in the broadcast industry
in the Seattle area, holding various accounting positions at KIRO radio
and television before moving to KING television, where he held the position
of assistant controller. Most recently, he was the director of finance
at Fox Sports Northwest.
FINANCIAL
Snohomish resident Shana Allen has been promoted to vice president
and information technology manager at EvergreenBank, where she has worked
for more than 17 years, holding positions in lending, finance and operations.
Lynne Longpre
has been promoted to loan documentation manager at The Bank of Washington.
She has been with the bank for six years. Also, Joaquin Paratore has joined
The Bank of Washington as a commercial lender. He comes from California
and previously was an investment consultant.
Five Frontier Bank
employees recently received promotions, including Barbara Scharping,
who was promoted to vice president/manager, of Frontier’s system operations;
Mary-Ellen Donnellan, who was promoted to assistant vice president
and manager of the bank’s electronic banking department; Cheryl Martin,
who was promoted to assistant manager of electronic banking; Debra
Heath, who was promoted to loan support officer at the bank’s central
lending department; and Jeff Slater, who was appointed to assistant
vice president and commercial loan officer of Frontier Bank’s Lynnwood
office.
GOVERNMENT
Peter Camp has been hired as executive director for Snohomish County
government. He will be responsible for oversight of the Department of
Planning and Development Services, Paine Field, Environmental Policy and
Economic Development. Camp has worked for 26 years in the public and private
sectors, most recently serving as the city of Everett’s interim city attorney
and deputy city attorney. Camp is replacing Tom Fitzpatrick who
recently returned to the private practice of law.
Steven Thomsen
has been appointed director of Snohomish County Public Works. Thomsen
has worked for nearly 20 years in the Snohomish County Department of Public
Works, with his past five years as county engineer and deputy director.
He has been acting as interim director of public works since January.
HUMAN
RESOURCES
Nicole Forward has joined employers’ association TOC Management
Services in the newly created position of training and development specialist.
INSURANCE
Allstate Insurance Co. agent Paul Hagstrom is the new owner of
the Hawthorne Insurance Agency in Mukilteo. Involved in the insurance
industry since 1978, Hagstrom previously worked for Allstate’s workplace
division, where he served as the regional director.
Six sales leaders
from Allstate’s Northwest region have been recognized by the company for
their outstanding leadership and have received the 2005 Allstate Key Manager
award. Award winners are Cindy Hill, Herb Hossfeld, Jennifer Oldenburg,
Shawn Rogerson, Mike Schrand and Larry Wenneborg.
Angela Groom,
a New York Life Insurance agent in Bothell, has been named an Annuity
Champion for 2005.

Ron Bradley has been named union business representative at the
Everett office of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace
Workers’ District 751.
NONPROFITS
The Providence General Foundation recently announced its 2006 board officers
at its annual meeting. They are: Chairman Gary Weikel, Snohomish
County special projects director/parks and recreation director; First
Vice Chairman Don Ayres, American Life Inc., property manager;
Second Vice Chair Jeff Moore, Everett Public Schools; Treasurer
Larry Jubie; and Secretary Karen Hansen, Mill Town Credit
