Tuition-assistance grants available at Eton

Herald Business Journal Staff

Eton Technical Institute is offering tuition-assistance grants for Puget Sound workers facing layoffs, according to a news release issued by the institute.

“These are challenging times for the Puget Sound area work force, especially for those who directly feel the impacts from the Boeing and travel industry reductions,” institute President Wallace Wright said.

Qualifying workers affected by layoffs may apply the grants toward tuition of any of the Eton Technical Institute programs, including the medical- and dental-assisting programs, medical billing specialist program and the pharmacy technician program.

The grants may be used along with federal grants and loans, Washington state training-assistance funding, private industry training-assistance funding and other financial-assistance programs available to qualified individuals.

Eton has campuses in Everett, Port Orchard and Federal Way.
