Verizon Wireless
expands service

SCBJ Staff

Verizon Wireless has expanded its wireless data service in Snohomish and Island counties, the company said in an October announcement.

Verizon’s Express Network is capable of sending data at an average rate of 40 to 60 kilobits per second, allowing users to download e-mail, browse the Internet from laptop computers or personal digital assistants with wireless connections.

The service also allows for online game-playing and sending digital photos, according to Verizon.

Express Network now serves nearly all of Snohomish County, including Everett, Monroe and Stanwood, as well as Camano and Whidbey islands.
