Alderwood’s new retailers

The total expansion of Alderwood will add 50 stores to the 150 merchants, restaurants and entertainment centers already at the giant regional shopping mall. Most of them will be ready for the Nov. 4-7 opening, others will be opening soon.

Alderwood’s owner and manager, General Growth Properties Inc., has released this list of new stores, many of them new to Washington state or to Snohomish County, as indicated by double or single asterisks, respectively.

n *Claim Jumper (www.claimjumper.com), opening in late November — Claim Jumper will offer guests an Old West-style dining experience, featuring ribs, rotisserie chicken, steaks, fresh fish, wood-fired pizza, burgers, pasta and desserts.

n *Jamba Juice (www.jambajuice.com) — Jamba Juice’s menu of blended-to-order fruit smoothies and juices has expanded to include new Enlightened Smoothies — offering 40 percent to 50 percent fewer calories and sugar than regular smoothies.

n Loews Theaters Alderwood (www.loewstheaters.com), opening March 2005 — State-of-the-art technology will take center stage when Loews opens its 80,000-square-foot theater, featuring 16 screens and stadium-style seating.

n **McGrath’s Fish House (www.mcgrathsfishhouse.com), opening in late November — At its first Puget Sound location, McGrath’s Fish House will feature fresh local seafood, a variety of steaks, pastas, salads, sandwiches, chicken dishes and an extensive children’s menu.

n Starbucks Coffee (www.starbucks.com) — Mocha Frappuccinos and lattes are now only a short distance away with the opening of Starbucks’ second Alderwood location.

n *Aerosoles (www.aerosoles.com) — Aerosoles offers shoppers an extensive array of comfortable, high-quality and fashion-forward shoes at affordable prices.

n *Ann Taylor Loft (www.anntaylorloft.com) — Ann Taylor Loft’s clothing collections are specifically designed for value-conscious women with a more relaxed lifestyle both at work and at home.

n *Apple Computer (www.apple.com) — Apple Computer’s store features the company’s new iPod designs, Mac computers, digital cameras, camcorders and more.

n **Black Pearl Teahouse — Black Pearl Teahouse’s first location in Washington state will offer bubble tea, a combination of fruit-flavored tea and tapioca pearls. The teahouse also will feature loose-leaf tea, mochi, ice cream and other flavorful confections.

n Borders Books (www.borders.com) — With 150,000 to 200,000 books — plus music and video/DVD titles — to choose from, Borders offers one of the most diverse selections in the area.

n *Casual Corner/Petite Sophisticate (www.casualcorner.com and www.petitesophisticate.com) — Casual Corner serves up stylish fashions that work around the clock. For petite women, Petite Sophisticate offers fashionable career- and casual-clothing options.

n *Chico’s (www.chicos.com) — Culture and comfort take center stage at Chico’s with its collection of exclusive, private-label designs inspired by the world’s cultures.

n Christopher & Banks (www.christopherandbanks.com) — Christopher & Banks’ clothing collections are specifically designed for busy women who need clothing that is suitable for work and leisure.
