Statewide center created
to address nursing shortage

SCBJ Staff

As Washington’s nursing demands grow, a statewide center for nursing has been created to ensure a nursing work force to meet that need.

The Washington Center for Nursing recently was established by the Washington Nursing Leadership Council with the goals of providing information, recruitment and retention resources to support the nursing work force.

The nonprofit center’s initial funding has been provided by a combination of 17 hospitals, associations and health-care companies. Seattle Pacific University has donated space, equipment and support for the center’s initial two years.

For more information on the center, call 206-281-2978.
