Doing business with government — Nov. 2
The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce offers free business counseling the first Thursday of each month and will offer a session on doing business with government agencies in partnership with the Washington state Procurement Technical Assistance Center from noon to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 2 by appointment. PTAC provides free assistance with interpretation of solicitations, assistance with government registrations and certifications, and specifications, standards and drawing. Human resources association
meeting — Nov. 8

The Snohomish County Human Resources Association will hold its next meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Holiday Inn & Conference Center, 3105 Pine St., in Everett. Tabetha Taylor, founder of Motivation Mountain, will be presenting “Think Bigger! Three Steps to Strategic Thinking Success.” In conjunction with the regular meeting, the association will hold its annual silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting the Friends of Youth and the SHRM Foundation. Tribute to Leadership dinner — Nov. 8
The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Tribute to Leadership dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW, in Lynnwood. The event will honor 2006 business leadership, and the 2006 John M. Fluke Sr. Community Service award will be presented to a deserving individual who has made a significant contribution to the community. Also, chamber ambassadors and board members will be recognized for a year of outstanding and dedicated service to the business community. Economic forecast — Nov. 16
The Coastal Economic Forecast Lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Everett Golf & Country Club, 1500 52nd St. SE, in Everett. Bill Conerly, an economic consultant at Conerly Consulting LLC and formerly the regional economist for First Interstate Bank, will discuss the economic outlook for the nation and key industries, the outlook for interest rates and the stock market, and regional and industry outlooks specific to Snohomish County. Conerly is presented by Coastal Community Bank. Cost to attend is $30 for members of chambers of commerce or the Snohomish County Economic Development Council if prepaid by Nov. 13, $35 if paid after Nov. 13 and $50 for nonmembers. Web site workshop for businesses — Nov. 16
VisualGraphics of Mukilteo, in conjunction with Breakthrough BusinessSystems of Mill Creek, will hold a Rip Web Site Workshop from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 16 to help attendees audit their Web sites to achieve better results. The workshop will include a formal methodology for analyzing Web sites, page by page, including copy, design, flow and calls to action as well as psychological attraction triggers. Media relations presentations
— Nov. 16 and 17

Nancy S. Juetten, owner of Nancy S. Juetten Marketing Inc. and creator of the “Media-Savvy-to-Go” publicity tips booklets and workbook, will present “How to Make the Most of Your Media Relations without Spending a Fortune” at two chamber of commerce events in November. The first, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 16, is being held by the Northgate Chamber of Commerce at the Hotel Nexus, 2132 N. Northgate Way, in Seattle.
