‘Lunch and Learn’ — Oct. 8
Greater Port Gardener Bay Business and Professional Women kicks off an eight-part series on individual development this month as part of its “Lunch and Learn Series.” The first part of the series will begin at noon Oct. 8 at The Flying Pig restaurant in Everett.

The series will help individuals to improve skills such as communication, negotiation, interviewing and networking.

Cost is $35 for tuition and $12 at each session for lunch, or $90 for the eight sessions if paid in advance. BPW members pay $10 for lunch or $75 if paid in advance. Registration is due by Oct. 4. North County Economic Summit — Oct. 10
The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce’s latest North County Summit meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Tulalip Inn, sponsored by the Tulalip Tribes. The highlight of the all-day meeting will be the presentation of a five-month economic study of the north county area, commissioned by the chamber. Estate-planning seminar — Oct. 22
The United Way of Snohomish County’s “Evergreen Legacy Society” will offer a “Basic Wills and Estate Planning Seminar,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at the United Way office, 917 134th St. SW, Suite B-1, in Everett.

The free seminar, which will include a panel of professionals, will touch on the basics of writing a will and preparing an estate plan. Seminar participants will take home a free resource packet to begin their estate planning.

Investment workshop — Nov. 5-26
Everett Community College is offering a financial workshop, “Strategies for Serious Stock Investors,” on four consecutive Tuesdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. beginning Nov. 5.

The workshop is intended for serious, long-term stock investors. Topics include common-sense rules for choosing stocks, ways to analyze stock research, and how to properly build an equity portfolio.

The price is $39 per individual. The instructor is Eric Cumley with Edward Jones, and pre-registration is required. For information or to register, call Continuing Education at 425-267-0150.
