Candidate debate — Oct. 8
Democratic and Republican candidates for the position of Snohomish County executive will debate the issues Oct. 8 at a luncheon presented by the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce and the Snohomish County Chambers Coalition. Allen Funk, publisher of The Herald, will moderate.

The luncheon will be at Embassy Suites Lynnwood, 20610 44th Ave. W., starting at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $30 per person, $25 for chamber members with reservations prepaid by Oct. 3. Reservations can be made by calling 425-774-0507, Ext. 0, or by sending e-mail to info@sscchamber.org.

KidsDream fund-raiser — Oct. 11
A night of entertainment has been planned for 7 p.m. Oct. 11 to benefit KidsDream of Snohomish County, which provides extracurricular and other self-esteem building opportunities for abused and neglected children.

That night, Club Broadway in Everett will host a dinner, comedy show and silent auction. Comedian Derrick Cameron is scheduled to perform.

Cost is $20 for the dinner and comedy show or $10 for just the comedy show. For more information, call Jeannine Fosca at 425-339-3945.
