Personal-finance forum — Sept. 10
“Money Wise Women,” a forum on protecting and strengthening personal finances, will be presented from 2 to 5 p.m., Sept. 10 at Everett Community College’s Multipurpose Room in the Parks Student Union Building.

Marketing seminar — Sept. 10
Former mattress-store mogul Sunny Kobe Cook will be the keynote speaker at a marketing seminar from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Smokey Point chamber — Sept. 11
The Smokey Point Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its general membership meeting at 7:30 a.m. at Oberg’s Restaurant in the banquet room. Capt. Small-business fair — Sept. 14
The sixth annual Washington Small Business Fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at Renton Technical College, 3000 NE Fourth St., in Renton.

The free fair will offer almost 30 seminars taught by local small-business experts and representatives from government agencies and business and trade associations as well as a panel discussion titled “Are You Looking for Cash for Your Business?” Attendees may stay for the entire event or come for part of the day.

EDC meeting — Sept. 18
Walt Gillette, in charge of the Boeing Co.’s Sonic Cruiser program, will be the main speaker at the Snohomish County Economic Development Council’s quarterly Economic update meeting Sept. 18 at the Marine View Conference Center in Everett.

Gillette’s topic, “Competitiveness in the Global Economy,” will include an update on the Sonic Cruiser program. Reservations can be made at the EDC office, 425-743-4567.

Business financing workshop — Sept. 20
The Northwest Women’s Business Center will hold “Financing Options for Your Business,” the third workshop from the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training series to be held in Everett this year.

The workshop will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 20 at the business center, 728 134th St. SW, Suite 219, Everett. The workshop will feature a panel of lenders and business owners, who will discuss a variety of financing options, from traditional to alternative.

North County summit — Oct. 10
The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce’s latest North County Summit meeting will be held Oct. 10 at the Tulalip Inn, sponsored by the Tulalip Tribes. The highlight of the all-day meeting will be the presentation of a five-month economic study of the north county area, commissioned by the chamber.
