Watching
Sheila Lau is
the new president of Verizon’s National Operations unit for the Northwest,
effective Sept. 1. She replaces David Magnant, who recently was
named Potomac region president for Verizon in Baltimore. Previously, Lau
was responsible for Verizon’s customer response in the Midwest, South
and West, including repair service for the company’s residential and small-business
customers. In her new position, Lau oversees installation, repair, construction
and customer service for 1.6 million phone lines in Washington, Oregon,
Idaho and northern California.
Jan Thompson
has been appointed home loan consultant for the Everett office of Countrywide
Home Loans Inc. As a home loan consultant, Thompson works with homebuyers,
homebuilders and real estate professionals to provide information on a
variety of home financing options.
David Burgstahler,
financial and managerial accounting professor in the University of Washington
Business School, has been named the school’s associate dean for masters
programs. He replaces accounting Professor Gary Sundem, who will
return to teaching in the fall.
Renee Radcliff,
formerly the executive director of the Northwest region of the AeA,
the American Electronics Association, has joined Apple Computer’s Strategic
Initiatives Group as manager of state initiatives. In her new position,
she will work with Washington state’s elected officials and schools.
Angela Anderson
recently was appointed assistant vice president at Everett-based Coastal
Community Bank. She also will continue serving in her previous position
as operations officer for the bank.
Snohomish County
Clerk Pam Daniels recently was presented the “County Clerk of the
Year” award by the Washington State Association of County Clerks. In presenting
the award, the association noted that in her role as Legislative Chair
for WSACC during the 2001-2002 session, Daniels exhibited highly effective
leadership in the passage of legislation authorizing Youth Courts and
increasing the ability to collect restitution owed to crime victims. Gov.
Locke signed both bills into law.
Curtis Blood
has joined Sparling as an audio/visual consultant. His current projects
with Sparling include design of audio/ video systems for Swedish Hospital,
the University of Washington Law School, White River High School and the
Bremerton Government Center.
Kerry Basney and
Prudence Branson have joined Windermere Real Estate’s Lynnwood
office as sales associates. Basney previously was a real estate agent
with John L. Scott in Puyallup, and Branson previously was a licensed
assistant with the Windermere office in Everett.
Thomas Brandt
and James Forsyth of Everett, both financial associates for
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, recently earned membership in the Million
Dollar Round Table, an independent association for life insurance producers.
The Million Dollar Round Table has 25,000 members representing 475 companies
internationally.
Bob Hamre
of Integrated Rehabilitation Group’s Murphy’s Corner Physical Therapy
in Mill Creek recently received his Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist certification through the National Strength and Conditioning
Association.
Amy Alexander
recently joined Murphy’s Corner Physical Therapy as a licensed massage
practitioner. Alexander’s background includes a bachelor’s degree in exercise
science from Western Washington University, certifications from the Brennekke
School of Massage in Seattle and 10 years of clinical experience.
Graham Haight
has joined The Bank of Washington as its chief lending officer. Haight
comes to the bank with more than 25 years of banking experience in the
greater Puget Sound market. He will be responsible for all of the bank’s
lending activities.
David Baska, an
associate at Zipper Zeman Associates of Lynnwood, recently was granted
a doctorate in earthquake engineering from the University of Washington.
In addition, Edwardo Garcia has joined Zipper Zeman as a geotechnical
engineer. He previously worked in Arizona. Michelle Iaci has joined
the firm as marketing coordinator and project administrator.
Dr. Christopher
E. Price has joined The Everett Clinic Cardiology team, practicing
general cardiology and performing Transesophageal Echocardiogram tests,
or TEEs.
Cascade Bank has
hired Wayne Fjelstad as its new executive vice president to direct
the bank’s Business Banking Division. Fjelstad, who earned his business
degree from Montana State University, has more than 21 years of commercial
banking experience. Cascade also has appointed Lorelei Bender branch
manager and assistant vice president of its Marysville office. She previously
managed the bank’s Lake Stevens branch for two years.
Bob Tremonte
has joined John L. Scott’s Monroe office. Tremonte has been a real estate
professional for more than five years and also has prior experience working
in television for KIRO and ABC.
Erin McPherson
has been promoted to relocation manager for John L. Scott’s Relocation
division. She formerly was a corporate relocation consultant for the company.
Jack McArthur,
the chief of Snohomish County Fire District 1, has been elected to the
executive board of the Washington State Association of Fire Chiefs.
Marilla Sargent
is the new manager of HomeStreet Bank’s Mountlake Terrace branch. She
most recently was with US Bank.
Bonnie Williams
has been hired as coordinator of the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber
of Commerce’s new volunteer Information Services Program. Williams previously
was director of the Ken Baxter Senior/Community Center.
Mark Milan
has been hired as vice president and loan officer of North County Bank’s
Marysville branch. Milan has more than 20 years of banking and real estate
lending experience in Snohomish County.
