Providence receives award for medical tower
Providence Regional Medical Center Everett has been named the recipient of the 2008 Snohomish County Economic Development Council’s Economic Development Award, which was presented at the EDC’s annual meeting. This award recognizes an individual or organization in Snohomish County that has shown a commitment to new jobs and economic vitality.
“It’s an honor for our medical center to be recognized with this award. Providence has been a vital part of the fabric of Snohomish County for over 100 years,” says David Brooks, Providence Regional CEO. “Our mission calls us to provide compassionate service to our community, especially to the poor and vulnerable – it’s a calling we take seriously. We will continue to grow to fulfill our mission and provide quality care to all the patients who come to our doors,” Brooks declares.
Providence Regional Medical Center Everett is being recognized with this award because in September 2008 it began construction on a 12-story, 368-bed medical tower on its Colby Campus. Due to open in 2011, the new medical tower will create several hundred new jobs. The $500 million facility is the largest investment made in the company’s 150-year history and is the largest building project currently underway in Snohomish County.
