Colton Harris-Moore says two years on lam wasn't fun, lawyer reports

SEATTLE -- Colton Harris-Moore didn't have fun and didn't enjoy his two-year crime spree, his lawyer said this afternoon.

John Henry Browne said his client is concerned that other kids may imitate his misbehavior. The so-called "Barefoot Bandit" said it was inappropriate to be called a folk hero.

Harris-Moore, 19, had a brief appearance in federal court in Seattle this afternoon. He's charged with a single count of flying a stolen plane from Idaho to Granite Falls.

The Camano Island fugitive didn't contest prosecutors' requests to keep him locked up.

It's unclear when Harris-Moore will be due back in court.

The FBI and the U.S. Attorney's office said the investigation continues and more charges are likely.

Browne said Harris-Moore is "really a kid," and on Thursday was suffering a bad cold caught in jail in Miami. It's the first cold he's suffered in the past two years, Browne said.

Poor Baby
This "kid" is a con artist. He has no true feeling for his fellow human beings what-so-ever. Don't believe a word he says. He'll scam the system at the drop of a hat.

Re: Poor Baby
So do you know CHM personally? Probably not. So why don't you stop passing judgment on him until you know what your talking about.

Re: Poor Baby
TRUE! He is a con artist and to say he isn't is absolutely absurd. Time to take the blinders off. And if you aren't wearing blinders, well than, you are just an idiot.

Re: Poor Baby
Who the idiot here is a matter of opinion. Im sure he got a pretty harsh awakening being led around in handcuffs and shackles, and with the eyes of the world on him.

He's a felon, sentence him to adult prison for many years. OH I do feel sorry for him that it wasn't fun, how much fun is 18 years behind bars going to be?

Show us crime doesn't pay
If Colton really believes he should not be a "folk hero", then let's hear him say he will not nor will any of his family members take any moneies from any books writing, movies, talk shows, or other means of payment for his serial crimes or form his criminal history.

Re: Show us crime doesn't pay
The good news for Colton is that he is young. He can go to jail for lets say 5 years, come out when he's 24-25, and with all the money he can make from books, interviews, and a movie be set! He definitely should be able to reimburse all his victims and hopefully have some money left over for himself.

I hope John Henry Brown will make sure CHM is in protective custody to protect him from all the people who would do him harm.
